Whiting Medical Associates Joins Barnabas Health Medical Group


Whiting, N.J. (Sept. 22, 2015) – Whiting Medical Associates, LLC (WMA) is now part of the growing multi-specialty physician group, Barnabas Health Medical Group, effectively joining Barnabas Health, the largest not-for-profit integrated health care delivery system in New Jersey and one of the largest in the nation.

Starting as the two-physician group, Village Medical in 1977, WMA has since become an institution in its Whiting location, providing quality, comprehensive and personable Internal Medicine care for adults over 18 years, with a focus on preventive care and geriatric medicine.

Located on Lacey Road in Whiting, the five-physician group offers a full range of primary care services, from annual wellness examinations to urgent care visits. Additional services include ear wax removal, minor surgeries for benign small skin lesions, routine preventive pelvic examinations and PAP smears as well as joint and tendon injections and bracing for minor orthopedic concerns.

In-house diagnostic and care services include electrocardiogram (EKGs) and Holter monitor tests, spirometry lung test, vaccinations for influenza, pneumonia and diabetes education and counseling.

Elena R. Buenviaje, M.D., one of the two original founders, has over 35 years of practice experience. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and is known for her work in the field of medicine and her work in the community.

Crisnoel Cervantes, M.D., a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and board certified with the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, he has over 20 years of practice experience in Internal Medicine .

Danna G. Dela Cruz, M.D., a primary care physician trained in Internal Medicine with 15 years combined hospitalist and traditional medical care. She believes that patient education and working as a team with her patients and their families are the key to successful health management. She is a long-standing member and active supporter of the American College of Physicians

Mario L.P. Gallardo, M.D., Member of the American College of Physicians, has over 20 years of treating patients in Internal Medicine.

Vicente A. Magsino Jr., M.D., a fellow of the American College of Physicians, has over 15 years of practice experience in Internal Medicine.

The practice is affiliated with Community Medical Center in Toms River, a Barnabas Health Facility.
